This Privacy Policy describes how Spark Health Africa collects and uses your information when you visit our website and/or sign up for our mailing list. Spark Health Africa believes strongly in the importance of safe guarding all of your private information, and we hope that this statement will clarify how we maintain the safety of your personal information.
Collecting and Using your Personal Data
There are two main ways in which data on you may be collected by Spark Health Africa.
Firstly, when you visit the Spark Health Africa website (non-personal information). In general, you are able to visit our website without revealing who you are or any information about yourself. However, our web servers will collect information (standard information that your browser sends to every website visited) for statistical purposes, such as the number of visits, the pages viewed, which website you came from before clicking the Spark Health Africa website, the key words used to find our site, your IP-address, the browser type and language, access time etc. This information is aggregated and de-identified before we have access to it. You cannot be identified from this data. Spark Health Africa uses this information to improve our website and communication.
Secondly, when you sign up for our mailing list (personal information). By signing up for our Spark Health Africa mailing list you are consenting to provide your personal information for us to store and contact you in the future with relevant information. The personal information we request includes your name, email address, and details on your profession. You may sign up for our mailing list in-person through our program sign-up sheets, or online through our webpage. Every email that you receive from us includes the option to ‘Unsubscribe’ in order to remove yourself from our mailing list, as well as the option to ‘Modify Preferences’ which allows you to change the information that we have available on you.
How we use your information
We use your non-personal aggregated data (statistics on website use) to improve the content available on our website and our overall communication. For example:

* For monitoring and auditing site usage
* To improve the ease of use of the site
We use your personal information on our mailing list to send you news and updates on Spark Health Africa, and to send lessons, events, and other opportunities related to leadership and public health. We use information related to your profession to tailor our communication and funnel relevant content to you.

Spark Health Africa is diligent about implementing security measures to protect your personal information. Data on statistics on our website use and our mailing list is password secured and only a limited number of Spark Health Africa staff and service providers have access to it as needed. We will never share your mailing list information with a third-party without explicit permission to do so from you. However, we acknowledge that when transmitting personal information over the internet, there can never be a 100% guarantee of security, particularly when we use an external application (MailChimp) to store our data. We will do everything within our power to minimize the risk of a data breach.
